Gran Vía
Located on Madrid’s iconic Gran Vía, Bershka unveils its flagship store in a historic building. The 1200 m² space is spread across three floors, housing the collections of Bershka, BSK, and Man. The store’s concept, developed by Castel Estudio from Barcelona in collaboration with the brand's internal design team, aims to integrate the building’s brutalist architecture. Prominent structural elements such as concrete beams, pillars, and industrial installations are harmonized with a series of product display modules. These modules, which change materials depending on the section, create a light, flowing dialogue with the existing space.
From an architectural perspective, the store’s different levels are visually connected through sculptural wooden and metal staircases, as well as panoramic elevators. A stunning LED square screen installation by American artist Ezra Miller in the main stair area invites customers to explore the space further. The design focuses on using minimal, neutral materials to allow the vibrant product displays to take center stage. Remarkable display elements, such as a large stone wall at the entrance, organize the product layout and guide the visual journey throughout the space, leading to the impressive checkout area. This space features a rectangular column structure topped with a light-filled ceiling, creating an architectural canopy that clearly identifies the checkout zone.
The basement level houses the BSK section, the brand’s younger line, featuring continuous colored flooring, LED screen installations within the pillar sequence, and clothing display cabinets with a ceramic tile texture. Self-checkout kiosks are designed as oversized wooden ingots, while the fitting rooms enhance the space's functionality. On the first floor, bathed in natural light from the façade openings, the MAN section offers an elegant atmosphere. The space includes self-checkout areas and independent fitting rooms, with galvanized metal textures for the display elements, adding a modern touch and attractive light reflections that complement the displayed collections. Finally, the store’s lighting, custom-designed for this flagship, features a square grid of light, becoming an iconic element that enhances the shopping experience with its warmth and visual comfort.
